We played this - one of my favorites - last Wednesday night at youth group. If you need a quick and easy game, this is for you!
SET-UP: You'll need enough space for your group to split into two even teams, each team having a side of the room big enough for them to all lay down flat on the floor. You CAN play this outside! In the middle of your space you need something that is a divider that prevents the teams from seeing each other. We currently use a portable wall/room divider, but in the past have used volleyball nets with sheets/tarps hanging down and even folding tables/chairs with a tarp over them. Once teams are split, have them take their side and lay down on the floor wherever they want. You'll also need a soft ball (not a softball) or two.
PLAY: Each team takes turn "firing" on the other team by throwing a ball (or two) over the divider toward the other team. Try to take turns with who is doing the throwing. If a person is hit by the ball, they are sunk! They get up and stand on the side, and at that point they can call out directions to their teammates to help them hit their opponents. A person is disqualified and gets out if they move at all to avoid being hit by the ball. Play until one team wins, or until it gets boring (ALWAYS kill a game and move on to something else before it gets boring!).
Have fun!
