Well friends, if you haven't heard yet, there are big changes coming for me and my family in 2015! This past weekend Trisha and I spent a few fantastic days with the wonderful folks at Hickory Grove Baptist Church, in pursuit of a calling to come on staff as their new "Next Generation Pastor". After meeting with various groups of people from the church, Trisha and I sang and I preached in the Sunday morning services, and with a vote of 331 for and 1 against (!?) we were affirmed and called by the church to join with them in the ministry of reaching out to youth and young adults!
It's a bittersweet season now, as we'll close out our time at First Baptist Church of Cold Spring during the month of December. Our last Sunday at FBCCS will be December 28th, and we'll begin our work at The Grove on Sunday, January 4th. I'm excited for both churches as I know that God can and will use this season of change and transition for His glory, and I'm humbled that I get to be a part of what He's doing!
I'll be posting some thoughts on transitioning out of a ministry and starting a new one, so stay tuned here to keep up with all of that. And all along the way I would really appreciate your prayers for me, my family, and both churches. I've seen a lot of people at The Grove post with this hashtag - #Godsgotthis - and I love that thought. He DOES got this! (Bad grammar aside...) And great things are coming!
"For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness. I will create rivers in the dry wasteland." - Isaiah 43:19
